Frederick L. Regnery, 32
Vice President
Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler Inc.
Rosemont, IL
Drew V. Saunders, 33
Senior Managing Director
Staubach Co.
New York City
In his four years in the business, Regnery has
handled several notable deals as a Midwest
industrial leasing and investment sales broker. In the past two years
alone, he has completed $95 million worth of transactions, including large leases for Arvato Digital Services, Orbus, Kraus Royal Scot
and Ulta. This track record helped him secure a number of high-profile assignments, including serving as the leasing agent on IDI’s
200-acre Antioch Corporate Center. These successes spurred CBK
to present him with its Emerging Broker Award, as well as a rare
double promotion from associate to vice president. Naiop also
named Regnery chair of its local Young Leaders program, where he
recruited 85 members to the new division.
“I love a good challenge, and a career as a broker is a continuous test of one’s character and tenacity. The rewards are just as
dramatic,” says Regnery. “While my business plan does include
steady increases in production, it is also focused on earning the
respect and trust of my clients.”
C. Scott Rowland, 35
Region Director
GE Real Estate Canada
Toronto
As head of debt originations, Rowland leads
a team of five professionals that handle most
of GE Real Estate’s accounts, transactions and relationships in
Canada. That team was responsible for 70% of the total overall
debt volume in that country and has closed more than a $1 billion
in debt annually over the past several years. Rowland’s efforts
helped GE Real Estate grow its Canada business from $300 million
in annual volume five years ago to more than $2 billion in 2007.
In 2006, Rowland received a GE External Focus Award, which
recognizes individuals who achieve outstanding results by cultivating strong customer relationships. He has also completed the firm’s
in-house Quality/Six Sigma program and holds a Six Sigma Green
Belt Certification. Rowland began his career nine years ago.
Damion Sankovich, 28
Regional Leasing Manager
Glimcher Realty Trust
Columbus, OH
Motivated by his father’s long career in the
industry, Sankovich entered the business five
years ago, serving as a regional leasing manager for Glimcher
Realty Trust for most of that time. He is currently overseeing the
Jersey Gardens Mall in New Jersey and Great Mall of the Great
Plains in Kansas in addition to three other properties in Kentucky,
Ohio and West Virginia. This year, he will be responsible for
almost $53 million in base rent, as well as reaching 94% occupancy
on a total combined GLA of nearly four million sf.
Last year, Glimcher named Sankovich its Leasing
Representative of the Year, as well as the fourth-quarter Leasing
All Star. In the next four years, Sankovich hopes to become a
company vice president, as well as be involved in ICSC to take
part in shaping the industry’s future.
Since joining Staubach, Saunders has
helped form a New York City-based team
that has been the local office’s highest grossing for the past two
years. For this reason, among others, the firm named him a Top
Achiever in 2006 and 2007, and will recognize him as a Top Gun
this fiscal year. Saunders handles corporate real estate functions
for clients such as Westinghouse Electric Co., Travelers
Insurance, Deloitte, Webster Bank, Shaw Group and IMG. In
fact, his 800,000-sf headquarters deal for Westinghouse was
reportedly the largest US office deal in 2007 and involved the
largest incentives package ever offered by the State of
Pennsylvania.
A grandson of George Comfort, founder of owner-operator
George Comfort & Sons, Saunders intends to remain in the business as an advisor. The 10-year industry veteran plans to continue to grow his team as well as the company from both a revenue and performance standpoint.
Russell I. Schildkraut, 35
Managing Principal
Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group
New York City
Schildkraut’s family ran a small development business, but he went to college for
accounting. After graduating, he decided to go back to school
and study real estate and began to accumulate a portfolio of
small walk-up apartment buildings in Brooklyn, NY. He sold
those properties and entered the mortgage brokerage world
when he joined Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group 11 years ago.
Since then, Schildkraut has put together more than $7.5 billion of financing for about 200 projects and has overseen several billion dollars’ worth of financing for others. The youngest
managing principal ever named at Ackman-Ziff, Schildkraut
handles both management and revenue generation, is head of
underwriting and loan placement and is a member of the executive board, the compensation committee and the deal
approval committee. Outside the business, Schildkraut and his
wife founded the New York City chapter of the Pediatric
Glaucoma and Cataract Family Association, which provides
support and education materials to families of children with
pediatric glaucoma or cataracts.
Ariel Schuster, 30
Senior Vice President
Robert K. Futterman & Associates
New York City
Since joining Robert K. Futterman &
Associates in 2001, Schuster has been
promoted six times. Now a senior member of the firm’s
Manhattan brokerage group, his most recent promotion three
years ago also made him a partner, a move that was no doubt
spurred by his deal volume. He has been among the top five
revenue producers at RKF in 2006 and 2007 and is expected
to make the list again this year. In his career, Schuster has put
