Jessica Levin is currently

product types—office, industrial, retail,
multifamily and hotels. She also runs the
day-to-day operations of
Intercontinental’s West Coast office,
which she helped to launch in 2007.
During 2008 and 2009, she amassed $200
million in asset transactions for over 1. 6
million square feet in California and
Arizona. During the course of her career,
she has helped to manage and acquire
over $1 billion in real estate. She prides
herself on actively helping to mentor the
next generation of women entering the
commercial real estate arena.

After being offered a job
at a high-profile firm in
New York City, Alex
Marshall declined and
took a chance on a new venture called
Federal Capital Partners—and ended up
coming out ahead. The 36-year-old specializes in the financing, acquisitions and repositioning of multifamily properties for FCP’s
$2-billion portfolio. As a member of the
company’s four-person entrepreneurial
team, he led FCP’s $240-million private
equity fund raise and $243 million in apartment community sales in mid-2010. He’s
also personally managed the expansion of
the firm’s portfolio into the Raleigh/
Durham, NC and Tidewater, VA submarkets.
Prior to joining FCP, Marshall was a member
of the Real Estate Group at JPMorgan
Partners, as well as an associate in the
Acquisitions Group at ING Clarion.

nine years in the business, Matthew Maruccia has closed on
deals involving more than $400 million
in assets. Recent acquisitions include the
$48.5-million purchase of the Palms on
University, near the entrance to the
University of California, Riverside and
the $52-million purchase of Block 1949
in Tempe, AZ at Arizona State University.
Maruccia says he was attracted to commercial real estate by the size and complexity of transactions completed in the
business—both of which he’s had a direct
hand in for Pierce Education
