Early on, Appel successfully identified jobgrowth and affordable housing needs within suburban markets. In2019 alone, he led the firm to purchase and sell $1.4 billion inmultifamily assets.

Beginning his career in 2008 an associ-
ate at Trammell Crow Company, Joel
Behrens worked his way up through
multiple positions, before assuming his
current role as principal of the firm’s
Dallas-Fort Worth business unit and of
the firm’s multifamily subsidiary, High
Street Residential. Responsible for orig-
inating, financing and executing all
multifamily investments in Texas, Behrens has grown the multifam-
ily business from producing $100 million in developments to more
than $1 billion, with more than $700 million in its current pipeline.
While serving TCC’s leadership council, Behrens sources new
development opportunities, executes deals and breaks ground on
new, sustainable developments including urban, infill mixed-use
residential projects and transit-oriented projects.
Will Blodgett’s passion for preservingand developing affordable housingcommunities goes hand-in-hand withhis dedication to maintaining a socially-and environmentally-responsible company. Supporting and empowering residents and communities as Fairstead’sco-founder and partner, Blodgett leadsacquisitions and developments for thefirm’s portfolio, totaling $4 billion inassets, while guiding the company’s rapid growth. Under Blodgett’sleadership, Fairstead has grown from three employees and zeroassets in 2014, to more than 350 professionals, 175 buildings and
11,500 units throughout 14 states, today. He serves on theAffordable Housing Development Corporation board and theAffordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition; frequently advocatingfor additional, stronger affordable housing in the US.
Joseph Brecher’s success within themultifamily sector is evident throughhis vast industry accomplishments. Heranks as a top individual broker withinthe Mid-Atlantic region, havingarranged 2019’s largest multifamilyportfolio sale within the region, as wellas 2018’s largest multifamily propertysale. Commencing his brokeragecareer nearly 20 years ago with Gebroe-Hammer Associates, Brecher serves as the driving force behindthe firm’s multifamily sales and he is additionally credited withexpanding the firm’s geographic footprint and client base. Asexecutive managing director, he has arranged more than $5 billion in multifamily property sales, totaling 29,991 units, withinthe past three years.
A visionary with the ability to understand specific tenants’ needs, GidiCohen foresees demands and catersproperties accordingly to remain aheadof the competition. As CEO of CGIStrategies, Cohen’s calculated risks andethical approach to business continuously attracts investors and increasesthe firm’s visibility.
